Sansiri: Condos not too high PDF Print E-mail
source: Bangkok Post

Property developer Sansiri Plc has maintained that all three of its condo projects on Soi Ruam Rudi are low-rise buildings with only eight floors each, despite the company's own website showing one will have 14 storeys. The three properties have also got construction permits from the relevant agencies, said Sansiri's assistant vice president Samatcha Promsiri in a statement to the Bangkok Post.

The three projects are the Ban Siri Rudi project, completed in 2000, and the Preen and Prive projects, which just received construction permits last year.

Mr Samatcha, of the marketing department, said the three projects were not among the two controversial high-rises mentioned in an administrative case filed against the Pathumwan district chief and the Bangkok governor.

The case was filed by Grand Chamberlain Khwankeo Vajarodaya, Royal Household doctor Songkram Sapcharoen, and 24 residents of Soi Ruam Rudi on Wednesday.

The plaintiffs said the soi is less than 10 metres wide so buildings higher than 23 metres should not be allowed as per the 1979 Building Control Act.

But Sansiri's Prive condo website (www.privebysansiri.com) shows the building has 14 floors. It also has four other underground floors for parking.

Mr Samatcha later admitted that the Prive condominium has 14 storeys, but said that the stretch of soi in front of the project was 10 metres wide. The other two condos _ Ban Siri Rudi and Preena _ have eight storeys.
