Property companies believe two home shows - the first to be held from September 18-21 and the second from October 2-5 - will help bring this year's demand in the property market to the same level as last year's.

Thailand's current political uncertainty has had a negative impact on the property market.

Thai Real Estate Association president Somchao Tanterdtham said three associations - the Thai Real Estate Association, the Thai Condominium Association and the Housing Business Association - will host the 19th House and Condo event from October 2-5 at the Queen Sirikij National Convention Centre in Bangkok.

"Although the country's political problems have negatively affected homebuyers' confidence and delayed their buying decisions, we still plan to organise the House and Condo event, which will serve as a marketing tool. When homebuyers see new residential projects, they may have a change of heart and be tempted to buy," he said.

The 19th House and Condo event will showcase up to 2,000 residential projects worth several billion baht from 200 property developers. Homebuyers can purchase residences at discounted prices and opt for special financing options.

The associations expects about 100,000 visitors and sales worth about Bt3 billion from the fourday event, he said.

Homebuyers who want to resell their homes can participate in the Fourth Resale Home Fair from September 1821, also at the Queen Sirikij National Convention Centre. The event will be organised by the Government Housing Bank (GH Bank) and showcase 20,000 residential units consisting of detached houses, townhouses and condoฌminiums.

GH Bank president Khan Prachuabmoh said to celebrate its 55th anniversary, his bank would offer special interest rates and financing options. Homebuyers can book loans at the fair but will have to sign contracts before December 4.
