After successfully operating its servicedapartments, Civic Group is continuing to expand its business by opening two new projects under the name Civic Horizon worth several billion baht in Thonglor and Ekkamai districts. Civic Group general manager Somwang Jarasjanyawat said the company decided to develop two more projects in Thonglor and Ekkamai, foreseeing rising demand for luxury residences and the areas' potential as business centres in Bangkok. Situated at a convenient location near the skytrain and a shopping cenฌtre, Civic Horizon in Ekkamai will be built on four rais of land and will offer 147 units on rent in the 20storey building. The company is also developing half a rai of land in Thonglor into a luxurious modernstyle hotel. Unlike other serviced apartments, which cater to different groups of local and foreign residents, Civic Group is targeting highlevel foreign businessmen and Japanese executives in particular, who plan to stay for longer terms. Civic Group was a sales agent for Panasonic batteries of Japan for more than 30 years. As a subsidiary of Rung Seang Battery, the company foresaw an opportunity to develop property projects to meet demand from Japanese customers. Civic Group initially set up its first project Civic Place Soi Thonglor 16 to serve single residents aged above 40 years. Single bedroom studio apartments covering 30, 60, 80 and 110 square metres are available for rent from Bt30,000 upwards per month. Somwang said his company has learnt from customers' demands in its first project and adapted its strategy. The second project - Civic Park I, has been developed to cater to different groups of residents in Thonglor with more space on offer. The project has singlebedroom and two bedroom suites covering 90, 125, 130, 140 and 150 square metres. Rents start at about Bt50,000 per month. Civic Park II has 24 units on offer and caters to luxury customers. One and twobedroom penthouses are available for rent, starting from Bt60,000 per month
